“Everyone went back home because this is taking much longer and it’s much harder than I thought to get my visa and green card.”

Dobrik was born in Slovakia but moved to the US when he was 6 years old because he receives a child arrivals deferred action, AKA DACA, which allows children of undocumented immigrants to live in the US to avoid deportation.

He continued his Instagram video by saying, “This looks like a goddamn scavenger hunt so I apologize for not being able to get vlogs or anything like that.

“I hope to return to the United States soon. It’s like I’m lost. I am literally stranded. Wish me luck.’

DACA recipients can get approval from the U.S. government to leave the country, but only for reasons such as work, education, and family emergencies, but it’s still considered risky because it doesn’t guarantee return to America.

Dobrik had never left the US until this summer.

He posted a vlog to his YouTube – which has more than 18 million subscribers – earlier this month, announcing that he had been awarded a green card.

David has talked about his immigration status before, as in a 2019 video with GQ, he said: ‘I can’t leave because I’m protected by DACA and actually I can leave, I can go now but I can’t come back.

“I can’t go into the country for another ten years if I leave the country. So I am not a citizen. I don’t have a visa.’

However, if he actually got a green card as he claimed to have, then he should be able to come and go from the US.
