Liverpool fans rubbed their eyes in disbelief this week after the club released the latest pre-season training camp photos with Manchester City legend Yaya Toure in the background.
Toure could be spotted trying out Liverpool’s senior stars in the blazing hot sun, with an idyllic backdrop of a nearby Saalfelden mountain range.
It has emerged that Touré was actually a special guest of good friend Sadio Mane, who had invited his fellow African star to come see firsthand how Liverpool works.

Touré has now entered the world of football coaching with Russian outfit FC Akhmat Grozny and has ambitions to become a manager one day.
The player himself also has loose ties to the club, as his brother Kolo previously played for the club under former boss Brendan Rodgers and briefly under Klopp.
Mane explained to: Liverpoolfc.com: “I said, ‘Yaya, do you think it’s the best idea to come and watch our training?!” He said, “My friend, I’m coming! Just ask your boss!”
Toure asked Sadio Mané if he could join, to gain valuable coaching insightszicht
The big Ivorian posed for the all-star photo after the session
“He’s a really, really good guy and I’ve known him since 2004. He’s a good friend of mine so we always keep in touch and when he asked me if I could ask the boss if he could come and watch the training, he said me: “With pleasure” and I think the boss was happy that Yaya was with us today to watch the training and learn something because I wish him all the best.
“He wants to be a manager in the future and all the guys were happy to see him, to have a little chat with him and talk a little bit about City and Liverpool. It was nice to meet him again.’
Naby Keita was quick to snap a photo with Toure, as was Egyptian star Mohamed Salah
Touré also took a picture with the acquisition of Kostas Tsimikas from last summer at the training base
The Reds have already kicked off their pre-season campaign after meeting both Wacker Innsbruck and Stuttgart in two short games on Wednesday.
Both matches ended in a 1-1 draw, with Mane himself appearing on the score sheet.
Klopp also handed a debut to big summer signing Ibrahima Konate, following his £35million move from RB Leipzig.
