A Melbourne comedian and performer, who made headlines for her fairytale mural of Victorian Prime Minister Dan Andrews earlier last month, is back with another eye-catching piece.

This time, Casey Gothard, 25, has created an incredible piece of art dedicated to the iconic ladies of Fountain Lakes, Kath & Kim.

The piece can be viewed outside Brunetti Oro Italian restaurant on Flinders Lane in Melbourne’s CBD, and was established as the ‘perfect representation of Australian culture’.

Speaking to News.com.au on World Fairy Bread Day, which is celebrated on November 24, Casey said she didn’t want to make a political statement with her latest mural, so she chose Kath & Kim, played by Gina Riley and Jane, to match. Turner in the beloved TV show.

“I just love them so much. Maybe too much,” Casey said of Kath and Kim.

“They are the cultural and social glue that holds us together… To those of you who say Australia has no culture, I urge you to watch Kath & Kim,” she said.

A year before Halloween, Casey even dressed up with a friend as mother and daughter duo Kath & Kim.

Casey, who works in asset management by day, said she first came up with the Dan Andrews piece while she was bored in the lockdown in Melbourne.

She said she likes that her work is “not permanent” because it’s made from bread that gets old.

The money raised from the Kath & Kim mural will go to the mental health charity Reachout.com.

Casey now has an online store full of T-shirts and bags with her fairy bread designs on them. A Kath & Kim bag costs $25.

Last month, Casey’s Dan Andrews artwork went viral on TikTok after she finished the unique portrait, made with 126 pieces of bread.

‘@Dan Andrews I just want to have the beers’, Ms Gothard wrote, while she was in Victoria’s strict lockdown at the time.

The footage showed Mrs. Gothard scattering 100 and 1000 on bread at her table filled with crusts from pieces of bread.

Ms Gothard told the Daily Mail Australia that the mural, which people have now referred to as ‘Fairy Dan’, took about ten hours to complete.

“It started out rather systematically, but ended with me trying to fend off my dog ​​at 1 a.m. Monday morning,” she said.
