The theory, the 31-year-old says, is that passengers are less likely to book a seat between two strangers.
London-based Chelsea filmed her video last week on a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Corfu that she took with her boyfriend James.
The footage shows the couple boarding the plane, looking understandably elated at the sight of an entire row to themselves, then waiting for tension hooks as the rest of the plane boards.
When they hear an announcement that the boarding is complete, with the middle seat still free between them, Chelsea declares that they ‘damn it up’.
She tells MailOnline Travel: ‘Having the whole row to yourself is that extra bit of comfort – in fact it’s the exact same space you’d get if you flew on British Airways’ business class offer for Europe, so it’s a great way to get the most out of your money.

Chelsea says: ‘I wish I could say I was a flyer by the window, but I need the toilet too much and that’s why it’s always the aisle for me.’
She adds that travelers should set an alarm for when check-in for their flight opens to increase their chances of securing their preferred seat location.
