Joey Turner has insisted he is “happy and healthy” after fans worried about his slimmed-down appearance.

The former TOWIE star, 20, who weighs 7.5 stone, insisted he ‘can’t help being skinny’ – and not starving himself.

Speaking to The Sun to set the record straight, Joey said: “I weigh seven and a half stone, but I don’t weigh myself. I don’t care how much I weigh. I’m skinny, I can’t help being skinny. I’m not going to apologize to anyone.’

In recent Instagram posts, the reality star appeared slimmer than usual, something his 37,400 followers quickly noticed.

Joey, who at six feet “always had a tall, thin body,” reaffirmed that there was nothing to worry about as he eats what he believes is a healthy diet.

During a typical day, Joey will enjoy a bowl of Special K, a salad for lunch, and sushi for dinner. When he’s gone, he drinks vodka with water.

‘I don’t eat very much. I’m not much of a foodie, I’m not anorexic, I just don’t feel like taking part in gluttony,” he noted.

The fashion lover — who said his friends and family are aware of his eating habits and not worried — questioned the double standard of body positivity and rhetorically asked if it only applies to taller people.

Joey said he understands but has no intention of censoring his content and instead wants to embrace his body.

‘To put it bluntly, I can’t help being skinny. I’m happy, healthy and have supportive people around me,” he concluded.

The healthy and happy claims come after Joey hit back at fans who expressed concern about his performance on Saturday.

The TV star, who left The Only Way Is Essex five months ago, sparked concern among his followers with sleek model photos bearing the word “heroin.”

Joey faced the blow, saying he was ‘not a role model’ and shared a photo of Kirsten Dunst dressed as Marie Antoinette with the caption: ‘let them eat cake.’

In a separate statement, Joey defended his modeling photos, saying, “I’m not your role model.

“If I’m being honest, I’m not being phased by the comments, I just want those who are going over me to know I’m fine.

“I don’t care about the comments simply because it’s hard to care about the opinions of people who don’t know anything about me, my diet, my metabolism, or my medical history with my weight.

‘I’m a 20-year-old student, I’m not on TV. I’m a student like everyone else and I’m not your role model, so if you want someone to look up to you, I suggest you put someone else on a pedestal, because I’m not him.”

“Although I was actually a kid when I started, I’ve had the most fun experience and made so many great friends.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the whole experience and now it’s time for the next chapter.”
