Tommy Lee Jones has replaced Harrison Ford in the cast of Amazon’s legal drama, The Burial.

The 75-year-old actor will star with Jamie Foxx, 53, in the upcoming project, which Maggie Betts will direct, with Doug Wright as the screenwriter, Deadline reported Wednesday.

According to a studio synopsis, the film, which is based on a true story, centers on a bankrupt undertaker named Ray Loewen in a lawsuit with business rival Jeremiah O’Keefe over a backhanded handshake deal.

O’Keefe, who hired flamboyant attorney Willie Gary to handle the case, was awarded $500 million from the jury.

Jones in the film replaced Ford, with whom he shared the screen in his Oscar-winning performance in The Fugitive in 1993.

Foxx is a producer on the film, which is based on a Jonathan Harr story published in The New Yorker in late 1999.

The Oscar-winning entertainer signed on with the project last year, Deadline reports.

A four-time Academy Award nominee, Jones has been featured in films like 2020’s The Comeback Trail with Robert De Niro and Morgan Freeman in recent years; Wander 2020 with Aaron Eckhart; and Ad Astra from 2019 alongside Brad Pitt.

Director Betts won the Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Director from the Sundance Film Festival in 2017 for her work on the film Novitiate.

Ford, who was last seen in 2020’s The Call of the Wild, is currently filming the fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise.
