The Voice: Ariana Grande first fills her team with KCK3 trio and sings a tune before the mic drops

Ariana Grande was the first coach to fill her team on Tuesday’s episode of The Voice on NBC, and she didn’t hold back on her feelings after she completed her roster.

The 28-year-old pop star took the stage and started singing her own song ‘My Team Is Full’ and then dropped her microphone.

The group that blew her away was a sister trio called KCK3, from Brandon, Mississippi, who took the stage and sang Ariana’s own song “No Tears Left To Cry.”

Ariana was stunned and almost immediately pressed her buzzer.

She told the trio that she didn’t even realize it was her song at first, but that she loved harmonies. Ariana told them they were the last group on her team and that led to her ‘drop the mic’ moment.

The final one-hour blind audition began with Aaron Hines, 28, of San Antonio, Texas. Aaron shared his shock to learn that his mother had breast cancer, but she urged him to keep focusing on music. He said his mother was now breast cancer free and knowing she was watching motivated him to impress the coaches. He hoped a chair would turn for him.

Aaron played Giveon’s “Heartbreak Anniversary” and all four coaches turned around.

In the end, he chose Kelly Clarkson, 39. She got up and screamed and went to brag Blake’s camera. Aaron told presenter Carson Daly, 48, that he chose Kelly because he thought she had him artistically.

Tommy Edwards, 27, of Bigfork, Montana, went on to say that his father was a business executive growing up but that they would play music together on weekends. Tommy took the stage and sang Train’s ‘Drops of Jupiter’.

John and Blake both turned. John told him he would love to join ‘Team Legend’. Blake told him he sounded like a real rock man, but he had to be on the right team.

“I’ve had great success with rock artists and I’d love to do it again,” Blake said.

He picked Blake and that made Blake’s team complete.

Shadale, 29, of Douglasville, Georgia, said she had been touring the world with a gospel group but got pregnant during one of their tours. She said she was now a single mom and works as a delivery boy during the week, but still sings at events on weekends.

As soon as she started singing “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars, Kelly immediately pressed her buzzer. John also pressed his buzzer. John told her that not only could she sing her ass, but you came here and put on a show. And it was so much fun.’

John told her he saw her make it to the final. Kelly told her she felt like she was watching a mix of Bruno Mars with Beyonce. She chose John and with that John’s team was full. He told her he can’t wait to work with her.

John then grabbed the microphone and started singing “Welcome to Team Legend.”

A stop-motion creator named Joe McGuinness, 43, from Atlanta, who said he grew up in a musical family, then took the stage. He performed the Allman Brothers “Midnight Rider.” Unfortunately, none of the judges turned around.

Kelly said she was waiting for a person she really trusted and that “I won’t turn around unless I’m absolutely touched.

Parker McKay, 29, of Nashville, took the stage. She said she grew up being so close to her mother, but her mother started acting differently five years ago and it turned out she had dementia. She said it got to the point where you couldn’t have a real conversation with her. She said her mother died the day before her birthday. She said she wanted to make her mother proud. She played Niall Horan’s ‘Slow Hands’.

Kelly turned. John told her she was so happy for her. Kelly told her ‘welcome to the obvious team for you.’ She told Kelly that she had lost her mother and that she was so happy to be on her team.

All of the coaches joined Kelly onstage to celebrate her team filling and the closing of the Blind Auditions.

The Battle Rounds will begin after this and the coaches will be assisted by advisors Camila Cabello for Team Legend, Jason Aldean for Team Kelly, Kristen Chenoweth for Team Ariana and Dierks Bentley for Team Blake.

The Voice returns on NBC next Monday.
