Richmond in Victoria and Surry Hills in New South Wales are on the list of the “coolest neighborhoods” in the world, above the suburbs of Singapore, Barcelona and Tokyo.

Richmond was named Australia’s 10th coolest neighborhood in Time Out’s latest annual rankings, while Surry Hills was ranked 19th.

Copenhagen’s Nørrebro was crowned the coolest suburb in the world for its “dazzling mix of historic landmarks, cutting-edge architecture and food,” with Andersonville, Chicago hailed as the second best.

Located in inland Melbourne, Richmond has been hailed for its combination of cafe culture, bustling Vietnamese eateries and fashion stores.
