The Block: Fans v Faves was dominated by fake headlines.
And now another major fake scandal is brewing, with contestant Josh Packham taking to his Instagram Stories on Thursday to make accusations against rivals Kirsty and Jesse.
The 27-year-old, who is entering the renovation competition with twin brother Luke, then went a step further by claiming the show’s producers were complicit in the scandal.

In his online diatribe, the Love Island Australia star said he added up each team’s budget and found that he and his brother had spent $211,000 on renovations so far in the show’s first nine weeks.
However, he claimed that Kirsty Lee Akers and Jesse Anderson spent $282,000 in the same time frame.
According to Josh, “that would bring in $70,000 over the given budget.”

Going there: He then suggested that the budget overruns forced producers to give the couple more money so they could complete their renovations

“As a producer, I don’t blame them. You’ll probably have to give them more money to finish their backyard and their properties.”
“It’s all smoke and mirrors in this show. There are rules for some, there are [different] rules for others.’
Of the uphill battle he and his brother had, Josh said, “We’re not just taking on Kirsty and Jesse, we’re taking on the show.”

The candid social media rant comes after suspicions mounted on Wednesday’s episode of The Block, as all the teams questioned how Kirsty and Jesse had so much money to spend on their massive property.
During the episode, twins Josh and Luke raged that they wanted to see “an audit” of everything the couple spent to put their minds at ease.
“We’ve decided enough is enough. We need a check. There’s got to be an audit,” Luke told the camera.

‘I can’t take it. I won’t have it,” he added, still shocked that 48 tradies were spotted on the couple’s site earlier this week.
“I need to see where their money goes,” Josh added.
‘My business is – how do they save money? They are in the biggest house, they should have more traditions every week.
“Everyone is struggling financially, but they seem to have a lot of money in the pipeline.”
They weren’t the only ones getting suspicious, with Tanya Guccione – who confessed to being part of another cheating scandal earlier in the season – thinking something similar.

She told the camera, “People were really hard on us for certain things that had happened, and there are Block Rules that have to happen.”
Tanya previously confessed that she was given a photo of the production schedule from an ‘anonymous tradie’ and forwarded it to the twins, causing both teams to lose two points during the basement week.
“If someone gets an unfair advantage, how is that fair to someone else?” Tanya continued. “Even if it doesn’t change our situation, it should be discussed in open communication.”
Ronnie Caceres was still in shock at the level of traditions on the couple’s site, adding: “The Block has never seen anything like it. Normally the houses of The Block are about the same, a few square meters in size – nothing like this.’
When asked if they were “breaking the rules,” Kirsty and Jesse said they hadn’t done anything wrong.

“We don’t bend the rules at all,” Kirsty said. “I think the others are starting to realize what a threat we are, they’re reaching for straws to try and slow us down.
“I think they’re finally realizing that we’re probably going to win The Block.”
Later in the episode, Scott Cam discussed with Jesse and Kirsty where their money came from.
They confirmed they’d won $20,000 winning challenges, pulled the hipages lever—meaning an army of craftsmen could show up to help build on the property—and won another $35,000 from Suncorp.
That was all without their own savings.
When Scott spoke to the twins about their suspicions, he warned them, “Don’t waste your time worrying about your neighbors.”
