Sean Connery’s granddaughter Saskia paid tribute to the late actor in an Instagram post on Sunday in the first year since his death.

Admitting that she missed her “best friend” every day, the 25-year-old influencer posted a series of unseen personal photos of herself with him.

Saskia, whose father Stephane is the James Bond star’s stepson, wrote poignantly: ‘A year without my best friend. I love you forever and miss you every day.’

She shared a photo of her planting a kiss on Sir Sean’s cheek last year, who grinned and placed a tender hand on her leg.

It mirrored a similar photo taken twenty years earlier in 2000, when four-year-old Saskia snuggled up against the Hollywood icon.

She also shared a series of photos where the Edinburgh resident stared at her admiringly, looking back with delight.

‘1 year without my best friend. I love you forever and miss you every day,” she wrote affectionately in her caption.

Sir Sean, whose film career spans five decades, is best known as the first to portray the British fictional spy 007 he played between 1962-1971.

He suffered from “respiratory failure” when he died in his sleep last October at the age of 90, according to his death certificate.

His respiratory failure was caused by pneumonia, old age and atrial fibrillation – a heart condition that causes an irregular and rapid heartbeat.

Atrial fibrillation, in turn, can increase the risk of heart failure and stroke.

He died in the Bahamas, leaving behind his wife Micheline, Stephane and his other son Jason.
