Adorable photos of a pug sitting on a kitchen scale, a rescue dog walking along a lake with his new owner and a Border Collie jumping through an obstacle course have been revealed as the winners of the Dog Photography Awards 2021.

The Dog Photography Awards 2021 is split into three categories and accepts submissions for studio shots, action shots, and landscapes and portraits.

This year, the prize for the winning studio portrait was awarded to Paris-based photographer Franca Lombardo for her photo of the pug Kairo staring into the camera in a bowl on a kitchen scale.

German photographer Janine Ulbrich won the prize for the best landscape photo, submitting a photo of herself walking along a misty lake with her rescue dog Skadi.

Other winning photos from this year’s competition included a beagle posing in a brown leather chair with his own portrait behind him and an excited dog splashing about in a lake at sunset.

The competition is held annually, while other dog photographer competitions take place monthly.

“Dog Photography Awards hosts monthly competitions for professional, amateur and student photographers around the world, as well as an annual competition that creates one of the most interesting competitions in dog photography today,” the competition’s website says.

We accept everything from outdoor, studio, portrait and action photography, there are no limits to showing man’s best friend.

“Our goal is to promote talented dog photographers around the world thanks to our world-renowned, talented and experienced judges.”
