Pregnant Helen Skelton has revealed she has the option of giving birth on live TV.

Helen has now joked that she insisted that her favorite vet be there to deliver her baby in case of an emergency during filming.

She told The Mirror: “Both of my sons were early so I certainly don’t want to give birth live on TV, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

“When you go to work on a farm, at least you know you’re in safe hands. The farmers have a lot of experience in delivering babies.

‘I know there’s a big difference between babies and lambs, but it’s all the same principle. Although I had asked Shona the vet to sit in my rider!

“I want her to be there for emergencies because she knows what to do.”

In September, Helen revealed that her due date is New Year’s Eve, as she discussed her third pregnancy on Lorraine.

The Countryfile star shared how her husband hopes she won’t give birth early like she did with her two previous children, because he would miss Christmas.

When Lorraine asked on the show when her due date is, she replied, “New Year’s Eve. The other two were too early and my husband keeps saying we can’t celebrate Christmas because he missed the last one.

“I said it’s okay for you to make dinner, then I’ll sit there with my feet up!”

Helen has previously revealed that she gave birth to her second child on the kitchen floor in France while her husband was away for work.

Discussing whether she had discussed it with her son Louis, she said, “I know God bless him. I can’t decide if he’s proud of being ashamed.

‘He says, was I born in the kitchen? And I go yes. It wasn’t what I intended. No one wants a beautiful French firefighter at their feet while they’re in labor, and that’s what I had.

“They had never done that before and were so excited I just said come back, please.”

Elsewhere in the interview, she shared how she was “independent” during her first pregnancy, but now she’s really “milking” the extra attention she gets while pregnant.

She explained, with the first I was like ‘I’m independent, I don’t need a chair, I don’t need any extra treatment’. Now, when I’m on the farm, I rinse it off. Does anyone have a chair? Does anyone have chocolate? It’s my last, so I’m really milking it.’

Helen also revealed that she had received advice from Judy Murray, 62, – who has two sons, Andy and Jamie – on how to raise boys.

She said: ‘She found something you can do with the boys and I never understood what she meant because my boys are boys boys, they played all day Sunday in the rain and they sat in a tree.

“They’re physical, they’re obsessed with my husband because of his rugby and that’s why I started playing gold and it’s brilliant and now they say to me ‘wow mama, you can break things!’ So I have nice points from them.’

She also discussed filming This Week On The Farm, which follows British farms as they welcome newcomers and navigate everyday life in the farming industry.

She said, ‘People say you should never work with children and animals, but that’s all I’ve ever done! The great thing about that farm is that Rob and Dave had the same childhood as me. My kids swam into the farm and say ‘oh my mama works here, we can do whatever we want’ and I go no, I can’t!

“But whether I’m spat on by an alpaca or a llama, it’s family watching, it’s a good laugh, but we have a lot of ironic humor.”

Earlier this year, Helen confirmed in a sweet Instagram post that she was expecting her third child with husband Richie, a rugby league star.

She told fans she was “grateful” when she debuted her baby bump in blue dungarees, surrounded by the couple’s two sons.

In the pregnancy announcement, Helen looked radiant as she placed a hand on her blossoming baby bump next to her two young sons.

She paired her chic attire with platform sandals and cat eye sunglasses, letting her blond locks fall loosely around her face and shoulders.

Helen simply captioned the post with the hashtag “thankful” and emojis, including a baby and baby bottle emoji.

Richie, 31, also shared the post on his Instagram Stories, captioning it: “Ding ding Round 3.”

It came after the family had just returned from a sun-filled holiday to Malta.
