A popular fast food reviewer has criticized an American hamburger chain that recently arrived in Australia, claiming it is a ‘scam’ and has the same quality of products as Hungry Jacks.
TikTok creator Fred, who is known on the social media app for his heartfelt opinions, recently visited the new Five Guys burger restaurant in Penrith and posted about his experience on Tuesday.
In the first video, the food critic disapproved of the cost of his $215 food order that included six burgers, three milkshakes, four fries and four drinks.

The order included six burgers, three milkshakes, four fries and four drinks, which came to a whopping $215 and the outraged reviewer said it was a “rip-off.”
Outraged at what he thought was an astronomical amount to spend on a fast food meal, the reviewer stated it was a rip off.
In a second video, he showed the burger, which cost $19, and took a bite to see if the taste matched the price.
However, after a few bites, the food reviewer quickly stated that the burger was nothing special and that the quality was on par with the popular fast food chain Hungry Jacks.

When did Five Guys land in Australia?
American citizen giant Five Guys opened its doors on September 20 in Sydney’s western suburb of Penrith.
Seagrass Boutique Hospitality in Sydney has acquired the rights to be the brand’s main franchisee in Australia.
Five Guys is a family-run burger and chip shop that started in America in 1986.
Now there are locations in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with expansion planned to New Zealand.
The franchise is known for its customizable, made-to-order burgers with a choice of 15 toppings and American-style milkshakes.
“It’s Hungry Jacks. I can’t justify paying this amount for this,’ he exclaimed.
“I’m going straight to Hungry Jacks.”
He added that the citizen was “f*****gs**t” and “slop” and told his followers to save their money.
“I’m telling you, go to Hungry Jacks, get a double whopper, save that damn money, because that’s what this is.”

The Sydney food fan’s opinion of the American chain caused a flood of reactions from passionate food lovers.
Many people were amazed at the prices and said they wouldn’t make the trip to the store.
One user wrote: ‘They won’t last long in Australia with those prices’.
“Saved me a 30 minute trip this weekend, thanks. Asking $10 for a milkshake,” said another user.

Another wrote: ‘I was never a fan of it when I lived in America’.
While a fourth said: ‘It really does look like a whopper!’
However, some people felt that the food reviewer should not have complained about the cost of the items if he had seen them before ordering.
One user wrote: ‘What, you didn’t see the prices before ordering? Don’t pay and then complain. I don’t understand people or these negative comments.’
‘You knew the price beforehand,’ said another.
While a third wrote, “I’ve had Five Guys in multiple countries, quality always great and decent $.”
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Five Guys for comment.
