Still, Paul Nicholas looked unrecognizable on Tuesday as he made a rare TV appearance to discuss his burgeoning rap career on This Morning.

Fans of the actor, 74, were shocked at not being able to recognize the star four decades after his heyday.

When asked why he started the new career, Paul replied, “It’s more current and I enjoy it.”

He admitted that he is no longer a fan of pop music, but added that the lyrics to his new rap include “Justin Bieber makes me want to puke.”

Paul began life as a pop star under the stage name Paul Dean before embarking on a career in musical theater.

He became a household name in 1983 by playing the super sweet Vince Pinner in Just Good Friends, earning himself instant sex symbol status with his mesmerizing blue eyes and a hint of blond curls.

The actor also appeared in the BBC’s The Real Marigold Hotel and played Kathy Beale’s husband, Gavin Sullivan, in EastEnders from 2015 to 2016.

Paul – who has six children with his wife Linzi Beuselinck – insisted he has no time to slow down his acting career any time soon.

Speaking to The Daily Mail in 2019, he said: ‘I’m not a leader these days, but there are plenty of roles for older people, as I keep remembering my agent!’
