A nutritionist has shared her exact daily routine to help you achieve your dream body on the beach by Christmas without giving up the foods you love.

Olivia Hillier attributes her enviable physique to intermittent fasting, a diet method that involves restricting what you eat at different times of the day or week.

The 28-year-old, from Brisbane, said she usually fasts all week and keeps her weekends “more relaxed,” where she eats anything she wants – including pizza and cocktails – within reasonable limits.

She eats up to six times a day while fasting for 16 hours between 6:00 PM and 10:00 AM.

“Finding a routine while enjoying the foods we love is key to boosting energy, mood and quality of life. There is no specific food that can make a person lose weight,” she told the Daily Mail Australia.

In addition to increased vegetable intake and hydration, Olivia suggested a 16:8 intermittent fast to give the digestive system a break once or twice a week.

6 hours: Wake up, a glass of water and lemon, followed by a bag of Wednesday Detox Day mixed with water. Then on to my Pilates class or a run

10 hours: Breakfast – overnight oats or protein chia pudding

11 hours: berry smoothie

12.00: Lunch – chicken salad or salmon

13:30: Avocado on rice cakes

3.30 pm: Berries or a pear

6:00 PM: Dinner – low carb pad Thai, zucchini pizza or a homemade poke bowl

“Losing weight is about sleeping well, getting hydrated and moving your body.”

In addition to increased vegetable intake and hydration, Olivia suggested a 16:8 intermittent fast to give the digestive system a break once or twice a week.

The 16:8 diet usually involves sticking to your usual diet, but eating everything within an eight-hour window.

“I usually fast for 4pm, which for me is stopping to eat at 6pm and then having breakfast between 9am and 10am,” she said.

Olivia said there is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ — and the best kind of diet is one that ‘nourishes your own body and soul,’ indicating that by finding a routine and foods you like,’ your body will look like your soul feels’.

She starts every morning with a glass of water and lemon before going to her Pilates class or going for a run.

At 10 a.m., she usually has overnight oatmeal or a high-protein chia pudding for breakfast — and about an hour later, she enjoys a berry smoothie.

At noon she has a chicken salad or salmon. Olivia usually snacks on avocado on rice cakes at 1:30 p.m. and a handful of berries or a pear at 3:30 p.m.

Olivia’s top five tips to achieve your dream beach body

1. Eating the right foods and avoiding fatty or fried foods will make you feel better during exercise and throughout the day.

2. Sleep is very important and you should aim for 8 hours a night

3. Embrace the challenges associated with diet and exercise.

4. Go at your own pace so as not to get overwhelmed and give up

5. Above all, stay positive and don’t give up. Change is difficult and requires patience and dedication

For dinner, her homemade meal consists of pad Thai, zucchini pizza or a poke bowl.

‘I change my dinner regularly, but I love coming up with new healthy recipes. Right now I love my low carb pad Thai, aka zucchini pizza. I also love my recipes for nutritious bowls and poke bowls,” she said.

Olivia said she’s usually no later than 9pm, so she gets at least eight hours of sleep.

On days she fasts, she takes Wednesday Detox Day during her 16-hour fast to help with the process.

“This pink tonic is packed with ingredients like collagen peptides and Siberian ginseng that help with bloating and cravings and make me feel full,” she said.

“The collagen also has the added benefit of giving you glowing skin.”

On the weekends, she doesn’t deprive herself of the food she loves.

“On the weekends, I’m much more relaxed, I usually fast all the time, but I love a margarita pizza with friends and enjoying brunch with a cheeky cocktail or two,” she said.
