A large poster van depicting murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi will feature prominently around St James’ Park ahead of Newcastle’s first Saudi-owned game on Sunday.
More than £1,000 has been raised for the protest, which will serve as a reminder of how the Saudi state oversaw the murder and mutilation of the Washington Post journalist.
Organizer Blair McDougall wants to raise enough to rent a more permanent spot near the ground.

Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo insists he has too much on his plate for Tottenham’s trip to Newcastle to fuss over the £305m deal.
He said, “I have plenty of other things to think about honestly.”
