Nadine Coyle has revealed that she believes she has received cues from her late Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding.

The 36-year-old singer told how the past few weeks have been “terrible” since Sarah died of breast cancer in September at the age of 39.

Speaking on The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio 1, Nadine shared how she recently filmed Irish musical talent show Last Singer Standing where she thinks Sarah sent her signs of her presence.

Emotional: Nadine Coyle has said the past few weeks have been ‘horrible’ since the death of her Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding

She said, ‘I was so close to her in life. There have certainly been things, she has made her presence known a few times. While I was recording the show it was right in the middle of it all and the people were so nice.

“There were a few days when the headphones just flew across the table and it happened three days in a row and the makeup girls said, ‘That must be Sarah.’

“One night I was walking around my house and something flew off the shelf. I thought, “Is this Sarah?” I still think she’s going to call.’

Nadine shared how the shooting schedule for the show had already been set when she heard the news of Sarah’s passing.

She said: ‘The show was planned, everything was booked. There was no way they could take a break to let me grieve. It was right back to work. Everyone was so nice and patient with me, it was amazing. ‘

The hitmaker also said it’s been a “traumatic year” since she first learned of Sarah’s diagnosis.

She said: “It feels like it’s been a very traumatic year and a half, almost two years now. It is a cruel disease and I know many people suffer from it. We certainly lost a great one there.’

Nadine also spoke about how close the pair were, saying they kept in touch long after Girls Aloud went their separate ways.

She said, ‘She was incredible. Me and Sarah have been close and have always been close. We were a great support for each other in the band and for years to come.”

A message from Sarah’s mother Marie was posted on the star’s Instagram account to announce her passing reading: “It is with deep sadness that I share the news today that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away.

“Many of you will know of Sarah’s battle with cancer and how she fought so hard from her diagnosis to her last day.

“She slipped away peacefully this morning. I want to thank everyone for the support over the past year. It meant the world to Sarah and it gave her great strength and comfort to know that she was loved.

“I know she doesn’t want to be remembered for her battle with this terrible disease – she was a shining star and I hope she can be remembered that way. Mary x’.
