She said, “Sausage dogs usually have a litter of six. I knew Cheesecake was going to get a few more because of the scan she had, but I didn’t think ten was possible.

“She gave birth within an hour of six and slowed down when she was tired. I am an experienced mother so I could imagine, I felt her uterus to see if there is anything else.

“She wasn’t a textbook at all. I fed her and within five minutes she gave birth to the 10th. I was stunned.’

The nest arrived on September 8.

They moved into their fur home in November, apart from Babybel who stayed with the family.

Stacey said, “My house was in chaos for a few months. I decided to put some pressure on and bottle feed the puppies at the beginning so Cheesecake could take a break.

“She’s such a wonderful mother, she was so thoughtful and gentle. It was a whirlwind looking after them all and I was sad to see them go. Babybel matched my other dogs, so we decided to keep her.”
