A woman who allegedly bit and ate two of her roommate’s fingers and tried to open her entrails in front of her six-year-old daughter has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Spanish police say the 45-year-old from Kenya allegedly attacked her 48-year-old Congolese victim in a flat in the southern city of Seville because she thought she was “possessed”.
Officers found the suspected aggressor on top of the other woman after they rushed to the apartment following calls from concerned neighbors.
The alleged attacker’s six-year-old daughter was said to have been in the flat in an area of Seville called Poligono Norte when she was stormed.

The alarm went off around 6:15 am on September 18, although details of the incident have only just been made public.
According to local reports, police believe the fight started as a verbal altercation because one of the women threw a bottle of salt water over the other.
The respected local daily Diario de Sevilla said things turned physical amid witchcraft allegations, with the alleged attacker believing the other woman was “possessed” and launched a violent attack.
She allegedly hit the older woman on the head with a large rock before throwing her to the ground and biting off two of her fingers.
Police sources said the unnamed Kenyan tried to cut open her alleged victim as they entered the apartment, using the stone she had previously attacked her with by shoving it into her anus.
The injured woman was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.
The detainee was admitted to the psychiatric ward of another hospital, but is expected to be sent to prison after his release.
Her schoolgirl daughter is housed at the municipality.
It was not immediately clear today whether the surgery to save the injured woman’s fingers was successful or how well she was recovering from her ordeal.
It is also not known when the suspect will appear in court in a closed session.
There is no official comment from the police in Seville yet.
