A mother has banned her neighbor from coming to her Christmas lunch because the woman supports Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews.
The mother, known only as Rachel, accidentally texted her neighbor “Jill” to a stranger in an attempt to inform her of the decision.
“Your views on politics seem a bit exaggerated to me and my family. Daniel Andrews is never the man we will support and we would respect it if you politely kept your political views to yourself, Rachel wrote.
“Your comments at the dinner table last year were also extremely disrespectful to my daughter and the painting your son smashed while kicking a football in the house was also the only thing I had of my mother that passed.”
Rachel then wishes Jill a Merry Christmas and mentions her recent breakup.
“I hope you and Ollie get through the divorce okay. Thank you.’
Jill has been cancelled: Rachel’s alleged text telling neighbor Jill she wasn’t invited to Christmas lunch because of her support for Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews
Once Rachel realizes she has the wrong number, she explains why Jill wasn’t invited to lunch
Perth wife Joelly Daveys, who accidentally received the extraordinary message, responded to the outraged mother and shared the exchange on social media.
‘Wrong number. But can you tell me the gossip about Jill? What did she say last Christmas?’ Mrs Daveys wrote back.
‘Jill was a very disrespectful neighbor’ [that] we used to live nearby. She is a supporter of Daniel Andrews, which goes without saying,” Rachel wrote.
“She talked openly about my daughter gaining weight at the table… She’s a very selfish and insensitive woman who I just don’t like.”
“Dayummmmm, Jill isn’t coming to Christmas lunch this year,” Ms Daveys wrote.
Social media users were quick to insist that the exchange was probably sent by a prankster who likes to send long messages to random strangers to confuse them.
Many TikTok users pointed out that the text exchange was probably a joke by another user who likes to send long texts to random people
“It’s a guy who texts random numbers to be funny and he sends just that message,” one commented.
‘This is the other TikTokker who sends long text messages as a joke. It has to, sounds exactly like him,” wrote another.
Others said they would have played along and pretended to be Jill to perpetuate the alleged prank.
Some commentators had an opinion about Jill based on the lyrics.
“Damn it, Jill is an open progressive in politics, but regressive in body shaming.”
‘Jill was a very disrespectful neighbor’ [that] we used to live nearby. She’s a Daniel Andrews supporter, which goes without saying,” Rachel said of her neighbor “Jill.”
