Boxing legend Mike Tyson has claimed that marijuana and magic mushrooms helped him end his wild lifestyle and find God.

The self-proclaimed “worst man in the world” didn’t expect to see his 40th birthday as his life spiraled out of control due to drink and drugs.

The former heavyweight champion pleaded guilty to drug possession and drink-driving in an Arizona court after he was caught irregularly leaving a nightclub in 2007 and nearly collided with a sheriff’s vehicle.

Iron Mike retired from alcohol and drugs in 2016 in an attempt to change his life after excessive weight gain.

He also turned to medicines for animals and plants.

“I didn’t even think I’d survive. Then I came into contact with veterinary and plant medicine.’

Tyson, 55, is happy with his new healthy lifestyle and now owns a 420-acre marijuana resort near Desert Hot Springs in California, where the drug is licensed for medical and recreational use.

He said, ‘Before you always read about me in the papers, that I was doing something negative.

‘Well, what happened to that man? You don’t see me partying anymore. That’s not my life anymore.

“It’s hard to really articulate it from my perspective, but psychedelics have helped me put my relationship to God.

‘I don’t use it for recreation. I am not a recreational user. This stuff is only done from a spiritual perspective.

“We go to ceremonies, you know. We must witness and be humble.”
