Grim scenes as man dies after being pulled unconscious from the surf
A man tragically drowned in front of shocked beachgoers on the NSW Central Coast.
Emergency services were called to Spoon Bay, south of Forresters Beach, before 2 p.m. Monday, after reports that a man had been pulled unconscious from the water.
A lifeguard on duty began CPR before the ambulance arrived, but the man died at the scene, despite desperate efforts to resuscitate him.
The man has yet to be formally identified but is believed to be in his early 40s.
Brisbane Water Police attended and will prepare a report for the coroner.
More to come.
