Kelechi Iheanacho injured Leicester just seven days after their Premier League game against Manchester United.
The attacker was eliminated at halftime in Nigeria’s shocking 1-0 home defeat to the Central African Republic in their World Cup qualifier.
Iheanacho fell to the turf and signaled to the bench after firing wide in the 34th minute. He tried to continue, but didn’t come back in the second half.

Nigeria will face the same opponents again on Sunday and boss Gernot Rohr said: ‘We already have some injuries. I don’t know if Kelechi can play, he knocked.’
Leicester hope it’s only a minor problem, as boss Brendan Rodgers had hoped to eradicate their early-season wavering by pairing Iheanacho with Jamie Vardy in attack.
Both were on target before the international break in the 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace and have proven to be a great collaboration.
The Leicester attacker had to be replaced and could miss Man United’s crucial game
In the 15 games they have started together since March, Leicester have scored 29 goals and are among the few Foxes players in form.
Leicester is already without Iheanacho’s international colleague Wilfred Ndidi with a hamstring injury that is likely to sideline him next month.
Key figures Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans and James Justin were all absent due to injury.
