Kim Kardashian’s plans to substantially renovate her property in Hidden Hills, California, appear to conflict with her neighbors.

A neighbor of the 40-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has filed legal documents to call a halt to her future building plans, according to documents obtained by People.

Her plans for the estate would require the construction of several structures, including an ‘underground vault, underground parking lot, an adjacent underground ‘wellness center’ and a detached guard house’ on the grounds of her home.

However, sources close to Kim said: TMZ that she has no plans to build a vault.

According to the legal documents, resident Sarah Key filed the application and named the Hidden Hills Community Association, not Kim, as the defendant.

She asks the association to stop Kim’s plan to “flatten two hills” and build on “two high-pressure gas transmission lines” because she doesn’t want the area to lose its “natural and rustic rural setting.”

She also shared her fears that building on the gas pipelines puts “members of the Hidden Hills community at risk of catastrophic bodily harm and irreparable property damage.”

The filing adds that Kim’s plans “can and will at the very least cause irreparable damage to the destruction of two Hidden Hills mounds” and that “progress on these two development projects could cause the loss of a life.”

The sources told TMZ that Kim’s building plans are being made in consultation with the housing association to ensure they comply with all regulations.

Kim and her estranged husband Kanye West bought the house in 2014 for reportedly $20 million.

They lived with her mother Kris Jenner while the property was being renovated and they moved into the estate in 2017.

Last year, Architectural Summary described the renovations to the house as transforming a “suburban McMansion” into a “futuristic Belgian monastery.”

Although Kim was initially a fan of the mansion as it is, Kanye was actively interested in reshaping the design, something he had long been passionate about.

After meeting him in Europe, Kanye tasked Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt to create the house’s all-white minimalist design.

“When I saw the work he was doing, I thought, this man could design Batman’s house. I had to work with him,” Kanye said, adding, “It was a coup to get Axel to come to Calabasas to rebuild a McMansion, which was essentially the house.”

While an all-white house may seem like a disaster with four small children, the spaciousness of the Hidden Hills home leaves plenty of options for North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two.

“The kids ride their scooters through the halls and jump around on the low Axel tables, which they use as a kind of stage,” explains Kanye.

But Kim added that they don’t treat their home like a temple, even though it may seem like it.

‘In the end, we don’t take it too seriously. We won’t be fanatics,” she said.

Fully stocked: The house has “Pentagon-style security,” a “show kitchen” and an everyday “staff kitchen,” a master bedroom “the size of an airplane hangar,” according to a 2019 Vogue story

In a 2019 Fashion In the story, writer Jonathan Van Meter described “Pentagon-esque security” that he had to go through before entering the house.

Kim has two kitchens in the house, a ‘staff kitchen’ that the family uses on a daily basis and a ‘show kitchen’ that she uses for entertainment.

The house is huge, even for a family of six, and Kim’s master bedroom was described as “the size of an airplane hangar,” with a large bathroom that “provides a shower big enough for a basketball team.”

Kim and Kanye started dating in 2012 and married in Florence, Italy in 2014, but Kim filed for divorce in February.
