A new gadget that promises hot and cold specialty coffees at the touch of a button has been dubbed the “best coffee machine in the world” by thousands of shoppers and caffeine enthusiasts.
The groundbreaking JURA Z10 may be the world’s first bean-to-cup coffee maker that also includes a cold extraction process, but such Customized service does not come without costs.

So what makes the JURA Z10 so special and what sets it apart from your average coffee pod machine that serves your daily flat white?

First, it’s the technology.
The Swiss-designed product can make up to 32 coffee specialties, from a flat white and intense espresso to cold-brew coffee, cappuccino and mocha.
Thanks to the product recognition mill – which is built to automatically adjust in a fraction of a second – the best consistency of a grind for your drink is always ensured.
The engineers have also installed a brewing system that cleverly allows water to flow evenly over the ground coffee at multiple levels for a more impressive espresso.
In addition, the machine is equipped with a touchscreen and WiFi, if you want to order a cup of coffee from your lazy chair with a smartphone.
The quality of the resulting brew is almost identical to what you’d get in a cafe – and certainly the best coffee you can make at home.

The second thing that sets the Jura Z10 apart from some other coffee machines on the market is its stylish finish.
While the machine may be a bit on the large side for a small kitchen, the design, complete with a curved front, metal drip tray and LED lighting, means it looks professional and smart in any setting.
It also uses artificial intelligence, which means that the machine is very intuitive to use.

Those who have tried the JURA Z10 have left rave reviews online, describing it as “amazing” and a “saviour” in their lives.
“A beautifully designed and made coffee maker,” wrote one shopper.
‘Fantastic coffees of all kinds from a super vending machine. A very brilliant achievement. The WiFi app is not so friendly to set up.’
Another added: ‘An insanely beautiful machine, with a new cold brew function, that seriously makes the perfect coffee every time. Make sure you get the cup warmer too.”
While a third simply wrote: ‘Coffee bliss’.
The JURA Z10 is now available for a suggested retail price of $4,150 online as well as select electrical retailers, department stores, independent and specialty stores.

My experience with the JURA Z10
If you’re looking for a coffee maker that will match your $4 daily coffee habit, this might be for you.
I had the privilege of road testing the JURA Z10 during the recent NSW COVID-19 lockdown, and I was not disappointed. Within days, I found myself substituting a daily trip to the local barista for a flat white with a home-brewed coffee made in the Z10.
The machine can also be used to make cocktails such as Baileys infused espresso martinis (pictured)
Despite the staggering price, the quality of this product is undeniable and the coffee that comes out is delicious, intense and barista level in terms of quality. Once I understood the machine a little better, I could make anything I wanted — from cold coffee on 30-degree days to espresso martinis for another Zoom trivia night.
My main drawbacks with this machine are that it is rather inconvenient to clean and requires frequent cleaning.
Its gargantuan size also means it can outshine other appliances in an apartment kitchen, so that’s something to watch out for if you don’t have a lot of workspace.
Finally, at $4,150 it’s clearly eye-wateringly expensive, and not everyone will be happy to know that you’ll have to buy a separate milk cooler if you want to take full advantage of that coffee feature.
You may also find – like me – that you miss a cup of coffee at your local cafe. Saving money or not, there is something nice about the daily ritual of watching your coffee prepare and take 10 minutes of your day to enjoy a different environment.
That said, the JURA Z10 is without a doubt the best coffee machine I’ve ever tried – and a seriously accomplished piece of equipment.
