Jordan Peele has released the title and poster for his upcoming movie starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer…and fans are loving it

Jordan Palmer debuted the title and artwork for his upcoming movie on his Twitter account on Thursday.

The poster for the 42-year-old filmmaker’s upcoming feature film — titled Nope — showed a large, long-stranded cloud hovering ominously over what appears to be a bright city.

Fans immediately took to the poster, saying it was “horrifying” and “hilarious,” with a tweeter adding, “You know you’ve got the goods when you can call your movie NOPE. Totally deserved swagger.’

The artwork also stated that the film would continue the comedian’s trend of working in the horror genre and that the film would be released on July 22 of next year.

Development on Nope was initially announced by various media outlets last year when it was noted that Universal had officially given it a release slot.

Last February, it was reported that Keke Palmer was in negotiations to appear in the film, and she was later confirmed as part of the cast.

Not long after, Daniel Kaluuya was announced as one of the protagonists of the feature.

The 32-year-old artist previously collaborated with Peele on his 2017 directorial debut, Get Out.

Plot details are currently being kept a secret, although it is known that Peele will direct, write and produce the feature.

Production on the film began in Los Angeles last month and the crew is currently working on the project.

The feature is part of an exclusive five-year deal between Universal Pictures and Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, which closed in 2019.

Earlier this year, the media company’s chairman, Donna Langley, issued a statement via Deadline to show the creativity and leadership of the Nope CEO.

The executive also spoke about Universal’s commitment to being inclusive with its behind-the-scenes crew with its upcoming projects.

“We also share an important goal with Monkeypaw when it comes to increasing the on-screen representation in the characters portrayed, the stories told, and the people telling them,” she noted.

Nope is currently scheduled for next year.
