Thomas Tuchel faces a selection headache for Chelsea’s return to action after Brentford on Saturday.
Premier League action resumes this weekend after the international break, but Chelsea could miss four key players for their trip to the Brentford Community Stadium.
The big news is that Antonio Rudiger will have to miss after coming back from the German national team with a back injury.
Chelsea defenders Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva will miss the Brentford game
Defensive partner Thiago Silva is fit but is unlikely to play as he travels back from Brazil today.
Before Chelsea’s game against Brentford, the German manager said: “Hopefully Thiago will arrive safely from his game in Brazil in the afternoon.
“We talked (with the team) about Brentford today, we had our tactical training today. He missed all that.

Christian Pulisic is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained while serving with the US
“He played 90 minutes, he has 12 hours of travel. So that might be the answer about his availability, he isn’t.
“Antonio Rudiger is injured – he came back from the national team injured, so he is not available either.
“Christian Pulisic is still injured and we have doubts about Hakim Ziyech, he missed the last two training sessions with a headache and does not appear to be with the team tomorrow.”
Veteran defender Silva started for Brazil in their 4-1 win over Uruguay, which started at 1.30am UK time on Friday morning.
Rudiger, meanwhile, played Germany’s first match of the international break against Romania, but was not sent to North Macedonia due to a back injury.
Hakim Ziyech missed training sessions with ‘headache’ and is also doubtful for Saturday
Injuries to both central defenders give Chelsea a headache in defense on Saturday. Cesar Azpilicueta could move in as centre-back, while Trevoh Chalobah could get a fresh start.
Silva is expected to return for the Champions League game against Malmö, but there is no confirmation on how long Rudiger is likely to be out.
Pulisic has since been eliminated since he suffered an ankle injury with the United States during the international match in September.
Romelu Lukaku will be available after retiring from his international service with Belgium
Ahead of Chelsea’s win over Southampton at the start of the month, Tuchel said of Pulisic: “There’s still a lot of pain he needs to get used to and it’s too much to start training with us so he’s still in individual rehab .’
There was some positive news for Chelsea, however, as Tuchel confirmed that Romelu Lukaku should be available for the clash against Brentford.
The £97.5 million signing withdrew from service with Belgium due to muscle fatigue, but has returned to training at Chelsea.
