His Italian model wife Beatrice Borromeo became a sales representative in February and his grandmother Grace Kelly was known as a supporter of the French fashion house, while his aunt, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, interned with the brand in the 1980s.

So it’s no wonder that Pierre Casiraghi, the son of Caroline, Princess of Hanover, has become Dior’s latest menswear ambassador.

An icon of elegance, Pierre Casiraghi will be Dior’s ambassador. The Monegasque businessman embodies the new facet of customization that is constantly being reinvented by Kim Jones [creative of Dior’s men’s line], a timeless modernity,” the brand said in a press release.

The 34-year-old businessman, who is eighth in line to the Monegasque throne, joins his family in the fashion scene – with Dior being one of the favorites of the royal family.

His wife, Beatrice, 36, the daughter of Italian aristocrat Don Carlo Ferdinando and worked as a political journalist and documentary filmmaker, is also an ambassador for the fashion house after being named to the role earlier this year.

She was awarded the title of most stylish European royal family by the society bible Tatler in August.

Meanwhile, Pierre’s grandmother, Princess Grace, also wore the brand frequently, including at her 1956 New York City engagement party with Prince Rainier III.

The actress-turned-royal also supported her designer, Marc Bohan, at the opening of the first Dior Baby boutique in Monaco in 1967.

Pierre’s mother, Princess Caroline, wore a Bohan dress for her 1978 wedding to Philippe Junot, while her younger sister, Princess Stephanie, was an intern at Dior under Bohan in the 1980s.

Even the daughter of his uncle Prince Albert, the six-year-old Princess Gabriella, appears to have a fondness for the fashion house. She was recently photographed carrying a Lady Dior bag.

Pierre’s younger half-sister, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, also regularly appears in the front row at Dior shows.

But it’s not just Dior that the Monegasque royal family is a fan of, and fashion seems to be a passion for many members.

Pierre’s sister Charlotte Casiraghi is a brand ambassador for Chanel after she landed the part last year, while his cousin Pauline Ducruet owns a gender-neutral fashion line, Alter.

Pierre, the father of two, who married his wife in 2015 during a religious service in Lake Maggiore, has modeled for Berluti before, but his main occupation is sailing.

He is vice president of the Yacht Club of Monaco and is president of the Sail for a Cause yacht race, which raises money for various charities.

He made headlines in 2019 when he agreed to help Greta Thunberg make her two-week trip from the United Kingdom to New York for the UN climate summit.

Pierre owns one of the few racing sailboats in the world with a ‘totally neutral ecological footprint’.

He had reportedly approached Thunberg, who wanted an environmentally friendly way to cross the Atlantic.

In 2016, he founded Team Malizia, initially with a ten-meter GC32 catamaran and then with another vessel.

Pierre and his sailing partner Boris Herrman took care of the sails and shared a bunk bed, while Thunberg, her father and Grossman occupied the remaining three.

Pierre told The Times about the trip: ‘We are probably one of the few boats in the world that has run out of fossil fuel at all.

“They had a lot of questions and they had explored different types of boats to cross. We explained that this is a racing boat, that there is little comfort on the boat, but she seems to like that.’
