New Genoa manager Andriy Shevchenko is eyeing a transfer for Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic and Manchester City star Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to reports.

Shevchenko took charge of the Serie A side on Monday after replacing Davide Ballardini on a contract that runs until June 2024 and is estimated to be worth £1.7million per season.

The new manager has been tasked with getting Genoa back to Europe but faces a tough challenge as his side are currently just above the relegation zone in 17th place.

But on the day the Ukrainian took charge, he was reassured by the owners that investments will be made to boost his new squad, Secolo XIX told The Sun.

And AC Milan is ready to pour money into a number of high-profile signings, including Pulisic and Zinchenko.

Shevchenko is reportedly keeping an eye on Pulisic, who recently returned to Thomas Tuchel’s side after a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The Genoa boss is also extending his five-year stint as manager of the Ukrainian national team, while adding compatriot Zinchenko, who has been struggling for minutes at the Etihad this season.

The legendary striker is also turning to his old pitch, AC Milan, where he won the Coppa Italia in 2003 and the 2004 league title and the 2003 Champions League.

Shevchenko is reportedly targeting Milan winger Samu Castillejo, while also keeping an eye on Vitaliy Mykolenko, who plays for another former side of his, Dynamo Kyiv.
