In the early 1960s, the property was the center of a rumored novel between screen icon Marilyn Monroe and President John F. Kennedy.

Monroe serenaded Kennedy with a seductive rendition of Happy Birthday on the occasion of his 45th birthday, sparking rumors of an affair between the two.

The couple is said to have met at Sinatra’s guest house on the property.

Stories of Monroe’s alleged affair with JFK, as well as, separately, with his brother Robert F. Kennedy, have been told in countless books, news stories, and interviews over the years, mostly in the decades since the three died.

Only one photo is known of the actress with the Kennedys – taken in May 1962, the same night she sang Happy Birthday to JFK.

The photo was taken during an after party at Hollywood director Arthur Krim’s mansion in Manhattan.

In it, Monroe stands between the president whose face is obscured as his back is to the camera, and Robert F. Kennedy, whose back is also turned, obscuring his face.

Rumor has it that this rare photo escaped the clutches of the Secret Service, who reportedly snatched all of the trio’s negatives together during the festivities.

Sinatra’s former home is up for sale for $21.5 million through Craig Knizek of The Agency, Beverly Hills.
