The property only went on sale last Thursday, and bids had already reached $5.5 million on Saturday — a million dollars above the price guide.

The buyer is reportedly a New York resident in his late thirties whose Sydney parents handled the sale on his behalf.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home features a double garage and was designed by award-winning architect Sam Marshall.

There are multiple living areas, along with front and back gardens, and a second level parent’s quarters, which is accessed by a suspended staircase.

The beautiful home also features a family kitchen, which opens onto a courtyard, and features a walk-in closet and double ovens.

The light-filled property also features high ceilings, plywood finishes and eco-friendly features including a solar hydronic heating system.

It will be up for auction, with brokers expecting there to be a lot of interest in the property.

“It’s one of the most privately owned, eco-friendly properties I’ve seen in the area in some time,” said Raine and Horne Double Bay/Bondi Beach agent Ric Serrao.

‘The garden is fantastic and full of sun and charm. It is also within walking distance of the beach.’

O’Keefe and his ex-wife bought the property in 2007 for $1.89 million and renovated it, adding a second floor.

The couple split in 2017, before making their divorce final two years later in 2019.

O’Keefe had dismissed allegations of domestic violence against him last month on mental health grounds.

He was arrested in January after an altercation with his partner Orly Lavee.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, he was deemed to be in a “hypomanic bipolar state” when he spat, punched and kicked Lavee at their Randwick home.
