Everton forward Bernard is reportedly ready to let the curtain fall on his time at Goodison Park and is in talks with several UAE clubs about a summer move.

The 28-year-old fell out of favor under former Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti last season, starting just three league games after struggling with consistency.

Now in the final year of his contract, Everton are set to cash in on the player they signed for free in 2018, with UAE side Sharjah one of the club’s interested in Bernard, according to the athletic one.

The arrival of Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace may have spelled the end for Bernard, who was linked with a move in January but a move to UAE club Al-Nasr backfired.

New Everton boss Rafa Benitez has been told he must cut the club’s inflated wage bill and Bernard will most likely leave if a suitable offer comes along.

The Brazilian has scored just five Premier League goals with the club in three years.

Along with Townsend, who worked under Benitez at Newcastle, Bayer Levekusen’s Demarai Gray is also linked with a move to the Merseyside club.

The Athletic also report that the 25-year-old completed his medical on Wednesday before completing a £1.5million move.

Benitez will aim to improve on the Italian’s 10th place finish in 2020-21 and is seeking help from two stars with Premier League experience.

Gray only left Leicester City in January on a deal of around £3million, but scored just one goal and five starts for the Bundesliga outfit.

The 25-year-old has a Premier League title and 133 top-level appearances to his name but has yet to realize his early potential, having captured attention in Birmingham City’s academy, as did Jude Bellingham a few years later.

Benitez also made moves on the other side of the pitch, with Championship side Bournemouth’s Asmir Begovic.

The former Chelsea, Yeovil, AC Milan and Qarabag goalkeeper will be a solid backup for England hero Jordan Pickford.
