The Arsenal duo of Aaron Ramsdale and Emile Smith Rowe will make their full English debuts in San Marino tonight.

As reported by sports post on Sunday, both were seriously considered starting at Serravalle and it’s clear the Gunners duo got the nod from Gareth Southgate.

Smith Rowe made his senior bow on Friday night and came on as a late substitute in the win over Albania, but he is now lined up for his first start.

He will be joined by fellow Arsenal player Emile SmithRowe, who is lining up for his full-length debut

Ramsdale has yet to make one more appearance for England, but he will be breaking his duck tonight.

Southgate considers sticking with a back-three; Harry Maguire, Conor Coady and Tyrone Mings are all in the running to start, while Trent Alexander-Arnold could start as right-back.

Harry Kane is hoping to lead the charge after begging Southgate to start in San Marino as the England captain goes after Wayne Rooney’s all-time goalscoring record.

Tottenham striker Kane took his international score to 44 with a hat-trick against Albania on Friday night and is set to score another goal in Serravalle tonight against the lowest-ranked team in world football.

His goals at Wembley last week took the 28-year-old to 39 competitive goals for England, overtaking Rooney’s previous record of 37.

But Kane is now looking at legend Rooney’s record of 53, while also being touchingly distant from third-placed Gary Lineker (48) and second-placed Bobby Charlton (49).

Kane has so far failed to start in any of three games against minnows San Marino and Andorra in World Cup qualifiers – but Southgate has revealed his skipper is begging to play in Qatar’s final group stage match 2022, knowing there are chances to to score goals are plentiful.

“He’s quick to let me know that he hasn’t played in those games (against Andorra and San Marino),” Southgate said.

“Of course, he’s excited to play. He wants to play. We have to make sure we win this game and we still have to try to qualify for the World Cup.”

Indeed, Kane is expected to play at San Marino tonight in a match that, if he were to score, would bring his 2021 international score to 13, meaning no other player would have scored more goals for England in a calendar year.
