“Oddly enough, I’ve had that whole life lesson from Olive about letting go. We couldn’t run it. You have to make peace with it,” Drew said, referring to her nine-year-old daughter Olive with ex Will Kopelman, 43.

“And she really did and then we got to the register and this guy put it on a wheelbarrow. And we both started to cry,” Drew said.

“Because you’ve already said goodbye to that pumpkin,” Jimmy said.

“And she had learned to love and let go and then I started to cry. And then we were like, “It’s a Halloween miracle!” Drew said.

Drew said she offered to pay the man for the pumpkin, but he refused to give her his number so she could send him money and wanted nothing.

“And then we cut it out, and we kept all the seeds, and we had this whole ceremony. And I said, you know, ‘We can’t send him a picture and he didn’t want anything in return,’ because, you know, he’s literally a saint,” Drew said.

She added: ‘If he ever hears this story, like, you really made me and my daughter cry and the pumpkin is beautiful and it made us believe in miracles’.

Drew was on the NBC talk show promoting her new cookbook Rebel Homemaker: Food, Family, Life, which she worked on during the pandemic, while also launching her new talk show.

“I think this is just a great time not to pretend but to peel back the layers and be more ourselves than ever and celebrate our little, beautiful, weird individuality and encourage each other and our lives and to share experiences. I was so optimistic about the pandemic when people were cooking the same things together online to have some form of community. That gave me a sign of, maybe I should go ahead with this project and create an intimacy and not a veneer,” Drew said.

The Rebel Homemaker cookbook will be released on November 2.
