West Ham star Declan Rice insists the way he is performing at the club proves he is fully focused and has not turned his head due to recent transfer interest.

The 22-year-old has been on the radar of Premier League rivals Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea after he turned down two offers to extend his current contract, which expires in 2024.

Rice has become a key player for the club, captaining Mark Noble in the absence, and is also a fixture for England, impressing in their build-up to the European Championship final.

“Everyone knows how I feel about West Ham and about playing under the manager and what it’s like to play with the group of players I play with,” Rice said before their Europa League game against Rapid Vienna on Thursday.

‘I have the feeling that you can see from my performances that nothing is wrong, nothing is my concern. I play with a smile on my face, I go out and lead the team.

“I think you could see a difference if I didn’t give 100%, but every time I put on the shirt, my only goal is to give everything for the club.”

Rice said West Ham, who finished sixth in England’s top division last season, were aiming for trophies this season.

“Last season we finished three points from the Champions League,” he added.

“The mentality is that in every game that we participate in, we can go on and win. This is a new one we are introducing and we want to win.”
