Dancing On Ice signs up with Brendan Cole despite his ‘pro freedom of choice’ views on Covid vaccines
Dancing On Ice has signed up Brendan Cole despite his ‘pro freedom of choice’ views on Covid vaccines.
The professional dancer, 45, is said to have previously used his Instagram to criticize the lockdowns and other Covid measures amid Strictly Come Dancing’s own anti-vax dispute.
According to The Sun, Brendan recently removed “pro freedom of choice” from his Instagram bio.

An insider revealed that the former Strictly star has been living in Mallorca for the past year, where not many islanders are stung.
They said: ‘Brendan’s signing is controversial in itself, as he has a dance background and may find it easier to learn the routines than others.
“He has been very candid, both publicly and privately, about governments trying to stab people, and how he thinks wearing masks is pretty pointless.
“The last thing ITV bosses want is another anti-vaxxing spat. Hopefully Brendan has been poked personally, and then the case will be over.”

ITV would be aware of Brendan’s views and confident that their security measures are robust enough to protect everyone.
Earlier this year, Brendan argued with fellow Strictly professonal and former Dancing On Ice winner James Jordan.
Brendan posted a report claiming masks were ineffective and then deleted the post after a response.
He later wrote: ‘I will point out that there is ample evidence to the contrary, and it is up to each of us to believe. “Keep believing this is the wrong way to do things.”

A Dancing On Ice spokesperson said: ‘We have strict protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all our employees and associates, which are routinely monitored and updated to reflect current guidelines.’
It comes after several Strictly professionals called their union over the show’s recent vaccine row, when ex-chief judge Len Goodman dismissed the show’s “madness” that went on without mandatory jabs.
The dancers have sought advice and support from the entertainment arts association Equity after a confrontation with show bosses, according to The Sun.
It was previously announced that three of the professional dancers have refused the vaccine against the coronavirus.
They added: ‘The last thing ITV bosses will want is another anti-vaxxing spat. Hopefully Brendan has been poked privately, and that’s the end of the matter.”
The unvaccinated pros are reportedly so opposed to receiving the Covid jab that they are willing to leave the show.
Sources claim that despite others advocating reconsideration, the dancers, who have not been named, are steadfast in their decision not to get the jab.
A source told the paper: ‘Both vaccinated and unvaccinated dancers have joined the union. They want to know how to settle their rights with BBC bosses.’
It went on to say things behind the scenes are “increasingly tense” and could even lead to the union “recommending some sort of action by those who feel disadvantaged.”
A Strictly spokesperson told MailOnline: “It is not the case that the BBC or the Strictly production team have raised concerns with dancers or celebrities about vaccination, or that they have threatened to stop it.”
Ex-head judge Len has now also lined up, saying it’s “madness” that not everyone on the show needed to be fully vaccinated before it started.
Drama: Several Strictly professionals have unionized over the show’s recent vaccine row, it was reported Saturday night
He told the publication: ‘It’s madness, especially since you’re dancing so close together.
‘I can imagine it can be quite confronting when someone finds out that their partner has not been vaccinated.
“People need to realize that it’s not just about them, but about respecting others and especially the older people who turn out to be more vulnerable.”
After reports that a celebrity was furious to learn that their professional partner had not been stabbed, former Strictly stars have called for the unvaccinated dancers to be dropped from the show.
James Jordan, who was a professional on Strictly from 2006 to 2013, criticized the “selfish” dancers who endanger the “whole show” and called on BBC bosses to name them publicly.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: “If someone on this show gets this virus and his immune system is really low and he dies, it could have been prevented.

The BBC is publicly funded by taxpayers. There are over 44 million people who have been double vaccinated in this country, so the BBC has a moral obligation to the country to say to these dancers, “I’m really sorry, unless you get double vaccinated you can’t change your position on Strictly ”.
“I don’t believe they should be dancing and endangering the entire cast of Strictly.”
James added that BBC bosses should have asked this year’s dancers if they had been vaccinated against Covid, and if not, they weren’t allowed to participate in the show.
It came in response to reports that BBC bosses were fighting to save Strictly and an outraged star told his friends: ‘We should have been protected’ after learning that their professional partner didn’t get the jab.
A source told The Sun that the celebrity was previously unaware that their professional partner had not been stabbed, and has been stunned by the failure of the BBC bosses to ensure their safety despite strict Covid measures.
They said, ‘They just couldn’t believe their partner wouldn’t have had a shot.
Furious: James Jordan scolded the three Strictly dancers who reportedly refused to take the Covid vaccine, saying they don’t deserve their right to the show
“They thought they would be protected, so it’s very concerning to find that their partner hasn’t had a single shot yet.
The couple has been practicing together for tens of hours. Obviously there is a lot of anger and a lot of questions.’
It was reported that the disclosure that a third professional dancer denied to the Covid had become known among the Strictly cast, sparking behind-the-scenes resentment.
The pro, who has not been named, is not required to disclose whether they have been vaccinated by BBC bosses, as it is a private medical matter.
A strict spokesperson told MailOnline: “We are not commenting on speculation about anyone’s COVID vaccination status.
“Strictly Come Dancing production has and will continue to follow strict government guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone on the show.”
