Tributes pour in for an expectant father and his pregnant girlfriend after they died within days of each other.

Dale Hannon, 21, died suddenly while on holiday in Tenerife with his partner Chloe Higgins, 26.

Just eight days later, Chloe, who was six months pregnant, was found dead on Friday at her home in Limerick, Ireland, the Irish Mirror reports.

The couple, both from Limerick, were pictured laughing together in Tenerife on September 8, the day before Dale died. The circumstances surrounding their deaths have not been confirmed.

Chloe, who is survived by her two daughters Tia and Charley, is known to have lived in Sarsfield Barracks, the headquarters of the 12th Infantry Battalion of the Irish Defense Forces.

A funeral service was held for Dale on Wednesday, while Chloe will be buried on Friday.

Natalie Coleman, believed to be Dale’s cousin, posted a Facebook tribute to the 21-year-old after his funeral.

She wrote: ‘Dale Hannon, you got the best goodbye and it was well deserved. You were unique, you can never be replaced. We will love and miss you so much, boy.’

Natalie added, “I hope you and Chloe Higgins and baby Olivia are so happy in God’s kingdom.”

“My condolences to the entire Higgins family and Chloe’s two beautiful children,” said Bernadette Bennett. Just absolutely tragic, spread your wings wide Chloe, they will be filled with lovers in heaven. RIP pretty girl.’

Another wrote: ‘So bad that it has to come to this does not seem fair to me that so much suffering has to be realized. Can’t imagine the pain.

“May Dale be in peace and may it be forever. For those left behind, may God’s strength give you courage to face each day.’

Hyde Rangers FC, for whom Dale played as a teenager, paid tribute to their former player.

“The club is deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of our former player Dale Hannon. Dale played both schoolboys and junior football with us for many years and will be greatly missed by all who knew him,” said Hyde Rangers FC.

“We extend our condolences to all his family and friends. May he rest in peace.’

Limerick District League said: ‘My deepest condolences to the Hannon family on the sad passing of Dale, may he rest in peace.’
