Conor McGregor is ‘another level’ and his ‘left hand can take out anyone on the planet’, Michael Chandler gushes as American mounts charm offensive to secure battle with ‘Notorious’ next year
- Michael Chandler recently suffered a defeat at the hands of Justin Gaethje
- He’s now pushing for a 2022 fight against Conor McGregor when he’s back
- Instead of luring the Irishman with nonsense, he kills him with kindness
- “That left hand can take out anyone on the entire planet,” he said
Michael Chandler is taking the ‘kill with kindness’ approach to secure a lucrative fight with Conor McGregor next year.
Rather than lure the Irish into a fight with trashtalk in 2022, the American has been complementary at every turn.
He called out McGregor despite losing Justin Gaethje to their Fight of the Year contender earlier this month and has followed lavish praise for former twoweight champion.
Michael Chandler is committed to fighting Conor McGregor sometime in 2022
He lost a brutal three-round match against Justin Gaethje at UFC 268 in New York
“That left hand could take out anyone on the entire planet,” Chandler said on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast.
“I think my right hand can take out anyone on the entire planet, so I think it’s a perfect fight.
“It’s a different approach when you’re fighting a man like Conor, because fighting a man like Gaethje, who likes to fight, is much easier than a man you’re really afraid to throw a punch at sometimes because of the shot that not see you coming when you withdraw your hand.
“So you definitely need to be on your P’s and Q’s with the hitting. But the coolest thing about Conor is that everyone is always talking about how bad a wrestler is, how bad a grappler he is.”
McGregor is working hard to get back in shape after his broken leg earlier this year
Chandler continued, “Chad Mendes knocked him down a few times. He was knocked down a few times in the second (Nate) Diaz fight. He was knocked down numerous times in other fights and he has always kept his composure.
“His mental awareness capacity and stability within the octagon, within the confines of the competition, especially with how heightened the stakes and senses are in his fights with everyone in the whole world watching, is something to behold, man.
“He’s a different level of competitor, and anyone who discredits him for losing fights is just a casual or a Conor hater, to be honest.”
McGregor is still recovering from the broken leg he sustained in his second loss to Dustin Poirier.
He is expected to return next summer and it remains to be seen whether Chandler will fight or rest in the meantime after his brutal war with Gaethje.
