CNN host Chris Cuomo, 50, is pictured wearing a cap that reads “I have issues.”

But it’s not just his taste in hats that the host of Cuomo Prime Time seems to have trouble with.

According to Nielsen Media Research rating data, the ratings for his show over the past few weeks have reached an all-time low.

Cuomo’s 9:00 p.m. daily program last week attracted a total of 684,000 viewers, with 156,000 in advertisers’ coveted age demographic of 25 to 54.

It’s a fraction of the 1,137 million total viewers and 377,000 demo viewers the show drew when it started in June 2018.

Prime Time was the 25th-ranked cable news program in total average viewership for the week.

By comparison, on Fox News, Cuomo’s rival Sean Hannity averaged 3,486 million viewers, 572,000 in the 25 to 54 demographic.

On MSNBC, Rachel Maddow drew 1,915 million viewers in the same timeslot with 263,000 in the demo.

Cuomo’s primetime program still manages to bring in more viewers than his old morning program New Day, which averages 324,000 viewers.

Cuomo’s rating began to plummet after his brother, Andrew Cuomo, resigned as New York governor over allegations of sexual harassment by several women.

In August, Cuomo Prime Time was still CNN’s highest-rated show with an average of 964,000 viewers and 222,000 in demographics.

Last year, Andrew Cuomo was a regular on Chris’s show, where he was showered with praise for New York’s handling of the COVID crisis.

In an interview Chris is said to have told Andrew that he was ‘the best politician in the country’.

His silence on the sex-bullying scandal — which reached a boiling point after the New York Attorney General said he believed the governor’s 11 accusers were only serving to fuel further accusations of hypocrisy.

In a speech broadcast live on CNN, he revealed that he advised his brother Andrew to step down as governor of New York on August 16.

He also offered a public apology for his intervention in the strategies of the scandal.

Cuomo said, “I can be objective about just about any subject, but not about my family. Those of you who watch this show get it. Like you, I bet my family means everything to me. And I am very loyal to them. I’m family first, job second.’

“When my brother’s situation became turbulent, as he was entangled in phone calls with other friends of his and advisers, including some of his associates, I understand why that was a problem for CNN. It will not happen again.

“It was a mistake because I put my colleagues here, who I believe are the best in the business, in a bad place. I never intended to, I never would have wanted that, and I’m sorry.’

It was revealed over the weekend that the disgraced former governor is considering running for the office of attorney general to political rival Letitia James.

Cuomo, 63, held the position from 2007 to 2010 before becoming governor and now sources close to the politician told the New York Post that he could run for the position again in 2022.

“People in Cuomo’s orbit are throwing it out,” a person close to Cuomo told the Post. ‘They float’ [the idea].’

The source said Cuomo and his team are surveying reactions after the former governor’s reputation hit an all-time low following the investigation into sexual harassment allegations.

Despite resigning and having to leave the Executive Mansion, Cuomo’s war chest — money that can be used to campaign — remains high at $18 million, the New York Post reported.

His political rival Letitia James, 63, won the attorney general’s position with $1 million.

Rich Azzopardi, Cuomo’s spokesperson, said: “There is a lot of useless speculation and we have no control over whether we continue to put valuable real estate in people’s minds.”

Cuomo himself told New York Magazine that he doesn’t “know what the future holds” in their latest issue, saying, “I’m at peace. Look, it’s simple: I trust the people and the truth will too [win] from.’

Cuomo told the magazine that he is enjoying his “vacation.”

‘I’ve never taken summer vacation. I have not done that. I never went on vacation, period,” he said. “So I enjoy time with family and friends. That’s all I do.’

Earlier this week, Cuomo celebrated the fourth birthday of his beloved dog Captain with a photo of the two on a boat with clouds atop the background. Captain was seen kissing his owner on the cheek.

While the former governor enjoys some fishing trips with his dog, he is also setting up a defense against those he believes were hostile to him.

James was his biggest opponent, alongside state senators Jessica Ramos and Alessandra Biaggi, who were both very vocal about calling for his resignation.

Former staff said it would be a total betrayal of his character not to fight back in some form at some point, and it’s only a matter of time before he does.

Cuomo was not impeached, so he can still serve as governor next year if he wants to.

It’s unclear whether that’s likely, but an anonymous Albany lawmaker told New York Magazine they fear he could attack them by funding their opponents in smaller local elections.

“Saying he’s an intense person doesn’t quite take it,” said a former assistant who declined to give their name for fear of reprisals.

Cuomo was charged with violent touching, two months after James was removed from office following her report on the sexual harassment allegations.

Chris and Andrew Cuomo are the sons of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, who served three terms from 1983 to 1994.

Chris attended Yale University where he received his bachelor’s degree and a law degree from Fordham University of Law.

Chris joined CNN in 2013 after working extensively for other popular networks.

He previously worked as an anchor for ABC’s 20/20 and Good Morning America, as well as a correspondent for Fox News.

He has received several awards and nominations for his work in journalism from prestigious media organizations such as The Emmys.

The veteran media host lives with entrepreneur-wife Cristina Greeven Cuomo in New York City, whom he married in 2001.

The couple share two daughters named Bella and Carolina and a son Mario, named after Cuomo’s father.
