During a Thomas Tuchel training match, chaotic scenes erupted in Chelsea’s training camp in Ireland, where half of the Blues squad accused the other of cheating after he lost the match.
Tuchel split his Chelsea squad in half for the season and ordered his team to head, with each player in turn throwing a ball at a teammate to score with a header, before rushing into the goal for the identical effort of to stop the other team. The winning team was the first team to score five goals.
The losing group – which included first-team players like Tammy Abraham and Davide Zappacosta – accused the opposing team of making up for their total and asked Tuchel to check the number of goals with the help of the cameramen who filmed the match.

When Abraham and Co were confirmed as the losers, the Chelsea striker, who is linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, accused the opposition team of cheating, calling the defeat a “disgrace”.
The attacker and his teammates had to sing Backstreet Boys or the Spice Girls at the team dinner later that night.
The winning team included Marcos Alonso, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Connor Gallagher, Hakim Ziyech, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Danny Drinkwater.

Before the training game, Tuchel set out the rules before saying, “What we’re doing is having the losers team perform Backstreet Boys… for dinner today.”
Loftus-Cheek described the fierce training game to the club’s official website: ‘The first to five won and the other team that was mine won the first round, fair enough. Then we won the other round, so it was all square, so the next game wins.
“I was sure we scored five then, I was counting, but others said it was a mistake and apparently we didn’t score five.

“Cal (Hudson-Odoi) said he wasn’t sure, and he wasn’t really celebrating, but the rest of us were going to celebrate before it was time to wait, hang on, let’s do a VAR check.
“When it went to VAR and they said it was five, we went crazy!”
The Blues arrived in Ireland on Tuesday for a week-long pre-season training camp where the Chelsea stars will embark on an intense regime set up by Tuchel before playing a friendly against Bournemouth on July 27.
However, the Champions League winners have left without some of their first-team stars who are still on holiday after their Euro 2020 and Copa America exploits.

Chelsea had 17 stars entering the European Championship this summer – more than any other Premier League team – with the list of players including finalists Mason Mount, Jorginho, Emerson Palmieri, Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
Meanwhile, defender Thiago Silva is also absent from the training squad for Ireland after reaching the Copa America final with Brazil, who lost 1-0 to Argentina on 10 July.
Due to the various absences, many young players and forgotten first-team stars such as Barkley, Loftus-Cheek and Drinkwater will play an important role in the club’s pre-season matches.
