Chris Sutton and former Chelsea star Joe Cole praised Edouard Mendy for his recent outstanding performance.
Mendy joined Chelsea last year from Ligue Rennes and has since built a reputation as one of the best in his position after a string of impressive performances.
The Blues goalkeeper was named Man of the Match against Brentford last week after making a number of saves to deny the Bees an equalizer and keep his side at the top of the Premier League table.

Mendy has received huge praise from Cole and Sutton, with the latter claiming the Senegalese has taken Chelsea to a new level since joining.
Speaking to BT Sport, Sutton said: “Chelsea have leveled up since Mendy’s entry, the shot-stopping is excellent. When I think of Kepa I think of a very tense goalkeeper, with Mendy he is always in control.
“Some of these saves are incredible. He’s agile, he’s good with the ball at his feet.’
He added: “He (Mendy) is to Chelsea what Alisson has been to Liverpool.”
Cole also spoke highly of the 29-year-old but was cautious about comparing him to Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, despite saying he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

The former Blues midfielder said: “You compare him (Mendy) to the best in the world and he stands on the shoulders of giants. We’ll have to see him for another year to say he’s one of the best, but he’s definitely one of the best.”
“You have to get the keeper right, Chelsea have gone from there to Champions League winners.
Chelsea have played against all the major sides, so he has more than done his job. If he leaves with his national team and we miss him, the level could affect Chelsea. With Rudiger and Kante there are better players.’
Since joining the club, Mendy has netted 20 times in 35 games and conceded just 20 goals in that time.
Chelsea could extend their lead at the top of the league table to four points with a win over struggling Norwich.
