Move over Mariah Carey, there is a new Queen of Christmas.

Channel Nine weather host Jessica Braithwaite is celebrating the end of the year early after her new single I Still Get Excited For Christmas unexpectedly skyrocketed on the Australian charts.

“I am really so impressed,” she told the Daily Mail Australia on Monday.

“I was just sitting here thinking this song didn’t even exist three weeks ago and I had no plans to put out a Christmas song, and now I’m in this position where the song does the wildest things.”

The single, which is available on Spotify, reached number 2 in the Australian Top 20 downloads and number 5 in the iTunes Rock Chart.

Jessica went on to say she thinks people are ready to celebrate the holidays early after a stressful and “messy” year.
