Earlier this month, Carol discussed how she took a break from her prestigious TV career to focus on her health after contracting Covid.

She said she found her obligations “unpleasant” during her fight against Covid.

In an interview, Carol said she felt bloated and “beyond tired” from her hectic schedule last year.

Carol told the mirror: ‘I don’t mind being on television anymore. I worked my ass off last year and I don’t want to do it again.’

She said she was feeling burned out from a hectic schedule filming The Maths Factor, several TV shows, including Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel, and making new books.

She added: ‘I found lockdown difficult – like everyone else. Last Christmas I was bloated and unwell. Tired, more than tired, and I didn’t enjoy filming.

“In January I said to my agent: ‘I just don’t do that anymore. I don’t see the point. I’m going to focus on my health’, so I’ve been working on that.’
