Tottenham have secured their spot in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after beating Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor on Wednesday night.

Both teams struggled to create meaningful chances in a scoreless first half, in which Spurs were forced to make an early substitution after Bryan Gil suffered a hamstring problem.

It took until the 65th minute for the first shot on target to be registered, forcing Nick Pope to reject Giovani Lo Celso in a one-on-one situation. But minutes later, Tottenham would make the breakthrough, with Lucas Moura heading the Emerson Royal cross.

Burnley pushed for the equaliser, but the Spurs held out and secured a spot in the last eight of the league alongside Arsenal and Chelsea, who advanced the night before.
