This is the hilarious moment when a seagull slammed into the face of a screaming teenager during a 75mph catapult ride at a beach fairground.

Kiley Holman, 13, decided to try the SpringShot ride at New Jersey’s Morey’s Pier amusement park while celebrating her friend Georgia Reed’s birthday.

Footage posted online on July 13 captured the moment a black-headed gull slammed into Kiley’s face as the catapult ride shot forward.

Realizing what had happened, a stunned Kiley panicked as she grabbed the bird and threw it away.

Kiley told Fox news she could see the seagull coming toward her as the ride began. She added: “I knew it would hit me. I didn’t know what to do so I waited for it to turn around and then I just grabbed it and quickly threw it off me.’

It is thought to have escaped unharmed, although it left a few feathers behind.

Georgia, 14, who lives near Kiley in Weatherly, Pennsylvania, seemed oblivious to the dramatic encounter as she continued to scream.

She told Fox News that she had no idea what had happened until Kiley explained.
