“Due to the Covid outbreak, this is 100% the worst time ever growing up,” she claimed.

“I feel devastated by people in their early twenties to my youngest brother who is nine years old, I don’t think this is a good time to grow up.

“Not only is the economy shattered for us when we decide to buy a house or start a business, but our education is also being screwed up.

“I get emails all the time from the university that we might not go back in person. It’s such an important senior year for me and maybe I’ll do it all on Zoom. It’s crazy.’

Anaïs admits that the global crisis has disrupted her mental health: ‘It is a time of fear and uncertainty, and enormous social anxiety, three things that do not harbor creativity or freedom of thought.

‘How can you expect a young generation to invent and experiment and be young and free when all we have here is negative things on the news and it’s actually a crappy time to be young.

‘You only hear negative things about young people and basically that the spread of the disease is our fault.’
