She has in recent months encouraged fans to listen to health experts rather than “wellness influencers” amid the Covid-19 vaccine debate.

And The Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield’s war against anti-vaxxers has clearly paid off.

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday, the 26-year-old reflected on her passion for mocking vaccine misinformation on Instagram, and the sad reason many influencers are afraid to follow suit.

“Ignorant people get me excited, and I can’t help but share our exchanges,” explains Abbie, who regularly uploads screenshots of online arguments she shares with anti-vaxxers.

Abbie said she hopes to empower others to take a stand against online users who spread harmful information, but notes that many influencers are still afraid to share their support for the vaccine.

‘I understand why’ [other influencers] don’t do it because anti-vaxxers are aggressive and people don’t bother paying the price or losing followers,” she said.

In fact, Abbie said she only benefited from promoting the Covid vaccine, explaining: “I added 50,000 followers in the last lockdown, and before that it was plateau.”

It comes days after Abbie sarcastically thanked the anti-vaxxers who share her content for inadvertently helping to promote her pro-vaccination message.

“The anti-vaxxers are posting whole posts about my Vax for Vibes content and I’m so glad they’re supporting me,” she said in an Instagram Stories video.

“They’re posting the whole video, they’re advertising me, getting my impressions and spreading the word about the Vax for Vibes campaign.”

Abbie, who got the AstraZeneca jab, revealed that thanks to the boost, she’s even making money on social media.

“I’m so excited they’re getting hundreds of responses. And I’m so glad they want me to make more money giving me more impressions this week because they’re all tagging me,” she said.

“So they are now looking at my Instagram account, which gives me more impression and more money. So thank you so much for paying my rent this month anti-vaxxers.”
